About Banana Fruits

A friend of mine send me an email regarding banana. Woi!!! It's about the fruits, wokay. Not the banana that belong to the man one. Not many of us really know the benefit of eating banana but I think this would be a great info to share with all of you.

Bananas Containing three natural sugars -- sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.
Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.
PMS: Forget the pills -- eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.
Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.
Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.
Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.
Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.
Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.
Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.
Strokes: According to research in 'The New England Journal of Medicine,' eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, 'A banana a day keeps the doctor away!'

STOP TAKING PANADOL!!!

I got an email from a friend and I would like to share it with all of you.
TRY 100PLUS & WATER - NOT PANADOLDON'T TAKE PANADOL AND PANADOL ACTI FAST AND PANADOL SOLUBLE especially if you have gastric problems.
FYI... One real story from a friend....My husband was working in a hospital as an IT engineer, as the hospital is planning to set up a database of its patient. And he knows some of the doctors quite well. The doctors used to tell him that whenever they have a headache, they are not willing to take PANADOL (PARACETMOL). In fact, they will turn to Chinese Herbal Medicine or find other alternatives. This is because Panadol is toxic to the body, and it harms the liver. According to the doctor, Panadol will reside in the body for at least 5 years. And according to the doctor, there used to be an incident where an air stewardess consumes a lot of panadol during her menstrualas she needs to stand all the time. She's now in her early 30's, and she needs to wash her kidney (DIALYSIS) every month. As said by the doctor that whenever we have a headache, that's because it is due to the electron/Ion imbalance in the brain. As analternative solution to cope with this matter, they suggested that we buy 1 or 2 cans of isotonic drink ( eg.100PLUS), and mix it with drinking water according to a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 (simply,it means one cup 100plus, one cup water.or 2 cups water).
Me and my husband have tried this on several occasions, and it seems to work well. Another method will be to submerge your feet in a basin of warm water so that it bring the blood pressure down from your throbbing head. As Panadol is a pain killer, the more Panadol you take, the lesser would be your threshold for pain (your endurance level for pain). We all will fall ill as we aged, for woman, we would need to go through childbirth. Imagine that we had spent our entire life popping quite a substantial amount of Panadol (Pain Killer) when you need to have a surgery or operation, you will need a much more amount of general anesthetic to numb your surgical pain than the average person who seldom or rarely takes Panadol .. If you have a very high intake of Panadol throughout your life (Migraine, Menstrual cramps) it is very likely that normal general anesthetic will have no effects on you as your body is pumpedf ull with panadol and your body is so used to pain killer that you would need a much stronger pain killer, Morphine?? Value your life, THINK b4 you easily pop that familiar pill into your mouth again.
What do you think now??? I am a person who have migraine but I never want to take Panadol when it attack me. In return, I just have a cup of warm water and take a break for a while. My aunties (in fact all my dad sisters are nurses) do not encourage us to take panadol too. Why not give it a try on 100plus the next time if you have got an headache. Is there any doctors or nurses out there to comment on this?
It's not that I am afraid of death. Everyone will have to go thru that one day, just a matter of time but love our health. Going thru dialysis is a very painful thing. I have seen people experiencing it. Very very painful. Mei Leng, if you are reading this - stop taking panadol liau har?
HAVE A NICE WEEKEND

Where To Buy Fresh Fish?

Where to buy fresh fish in Penang? I found out about this place few months ago and all I can say is - their fish is absolutely FRESH. Price is reasonable. The fishermen boat come back about 2pm and after they have clear their stuff, they will open their stall around 3.45pm to 4pm. They open everyday. It's located at Jalan Tanjung Bungah. If you are coming from Gurney Drive area, drive up to Paradise Sandy Beach Resort. Go further up and you will see Maxim Cake House. The stall is just opposite. For those who do not want to walk across, you can drive further up till the traffic light and make a turn back. The stall is also near to Tejani Clinic. There are lots of people who buy here. I go there at least twice a week to buy my seafood.

There are lots of choices but it also have to depends on the weather. Fish, prawns, crab and squid. All are fresh.................
They also help those customers to clean the fish. He is a very nice man.
Ever since I buy my seafood from here, hubby had been commenting that the fish he eat outside is not so nice. Last week, when we were at my parents house he told my mum that the fish from the market not so nice one. He tells her that next time when we go back, we will pack for her. Even my dad had reminded me to buy 2kg of kembung when I go back this weekend. He want to BBQ wor.
Do give it a try at this stall and I am sure you will go back again. Off course, there are also other stall but I am not too sure where it is. The others I had heard off is at Sungai Dua and Batu Maung. Anyone want to share where they buy fresh seafood?

National Service

Soon the new batch of youngster will be going for their National Service. Still remember the last time my youngest sister went for her training, all of us are so worried but after that we find out it's quite good too. Honestly, my sister loves it. She told us that she had learn a lot of things from there but there are also certain sad news that we hear from others camp. Anyhow, I think it's depends on the camp they go and the commander in-charge play a very important role. The one that my sister had at their Kem Millenium, Beranang is very strict. No hanky-panky stuffs are allow. In fact, there is a change in her when she came back. She had become more independent, more careful in things she do and more mature.
This are some memories that I still keep. Me and the family drove all the way to Beranang (in between of Selangor and Negeri Sembilan) to pick her back. We were quite shock to see the place. The campus is really very far far far inside.

The Entrance of Kem Millennium

Parents, officers and students awaiting to go back

Another view of the camp

This is my sister. See she so happy

They are going to miss one another

No matter what, she miss home the most. My son misses her alot too

Found some of this creature at the kampung. Have not seen this for very long time

Going into the camp. We have to pass by the village

The road is just enough for a car to go thru at one time

Wat will happen if another car come from another direction har? *faint*

As usual, I will go thru some other blogs and read. Horny wrote about prices for everything are going up. I fully agree with him. Things are getting more and more expensive and our salary still remain the same. We have been working so hard like a cow and sometimes we want to pamper ourselves too - have some good food, buy some nice clothes and bla bla bla. Because of Horny blog, I plan to create a food costing to share with you all readers. Not too expensive, healthy and easy to deal with. So, do look up for my post.

Men Bored With Marital Sex After 5 Years

Yes, that was what mentioned in The Star today with the title - MEN BORED WITH MARITAL SEX AFTER 5 YEARS. This topic really draw my attention. I were wondering is this true? So, men get bored with their wife after 5 years of marriage? Die lor like that...................

In this case, we must all go and get advise from Horny Ang Moh. He can tell you lots of things about sex from A-Z. Maybe, he can share with us about style and ways on bed. Choi! Choi! Choi! Anyway, this is fact about life. If during my grandma time, if we were to talk about sex, they will say we ladies have got no shame. But now, anyone can talk about sex. Basically, we want to share the some knowledge with our friends. Even, nowadays we dare to talk about this subject with our male friend, agree?

Wedding Venue

As I have promised, let me present you where my friends and I went to check out for a venue for her wedding dinner - Paradise Sandy Beach Resort, Penang.
Since it's almost dinner time Feon (Assistant Sales Manager) invited us for dinner and we only wanted something special therefore we had chosen Delifrance. I always love to eat at Delifrance since my school day. Anyway, I am a bread lover. Want to see what we had ate?

I had croissant. That is good enough for me.

Ceaser Salad with Nuggets. They were very generous with the parmesan cheese and this make the salad taste so great. Yum yum!!!

Seafood Platter................

This is the Devil Chicken. All of us agreed that the chicken is good. Next time when you are there, do give it a try.

Now the eating session is over and we better hurry up with our main purpose there - view the ballroom and the rooms too. Don't want to take up too much of the sales person time too. Oh ya!!! The sales person who show us around is Feon, very nice lady. It's already 7pm and it's not so nice to take up her time so much. Later, we manage to meet up with Mr. Peter Tan who is incharge of Food & Beverage. If I am not mistaken he is the Director of Operation. Very nice guy.

Let me show you their nice ballroom ....................

This is an area outside the ballroom. I guess it's almost 2,000++ sq. If you are planning for a BBQ part, this venue can be consider. Eh!!! Anyone want to organise a Blogger Party here?

My friend is planning to have her Tea Ceremony outside the ballroom. The Hotel also provide guest a room for Tea Ceremony if it's request. But I think this area out the ballroom is good enough. Spacious also.

Laguna Ballroom. It can go up to 45 tables and the maximum is 55 tables.

The ceiling height is just nice. Not too high and not too low. So, it's easier for the hotel staff to do any decoration if it's being requested by customers.

This is the stage.

This is the invitation cards supply by Paradise Sandy Beach. There are 2 colours for you to choose. Red or Beige. My friend is going to pick the beige colour. I think they are providing one of the nice looking invitation card in Penang.

We were being informed that there will be a Bridal Fair next week. I used my camera to snap a picture from their brochure. So, you can see the details above. During this fair, you will be able to see Bridal Make-up Demonstration, Feng Shui Talk, Ice Carving Demonstration, Baba Nyonya Wedding Presentation, Grand Bridal Show, Traditional Bridal Show and Art of Cake Dressing. There will also be buffet dinner. So, do not miss this opportunity. Married already? Still can go mah!!! For what? Aiyoh!!! Take this opportunity to visit Paradise Sandy Beach, you might be also planning for some other party, gathering or dinner. I told Feon that during my 10th wedding anniversary, I will consider going to their hotel and she say 10th anniversary will be long to go. Woi!!! I am already married for 7 years and just another 3 more years to go only. Anyone want to join me there?

After that, we went to have a look at the rooms. If you confirm your wedding dinner to be held there, you will be given a free Bridal Suite. Feon show us one of the Suite Room. Honestly, I love the room. Why? It's beautiful. Most hotels used white bed cover and nothing so big deal about their room but here in Paradise Sandy Beach is different. No wonder my cousins told me their rooms were FANTASTIC when there were here in Penang 1 month ago.

This is the living room

In the Suite, there is a Kitchen too. Isn't it great???

This is the living room. Do you see the picture on the wall. It's beautiful but I could not take a good picture. You know what? I were told that the pictures were taken by their General Manager and later enlarge it to make it into posters. Fuyoh!!! Not only that, all the posters in rooms are taken by their General Manager too. *if only I have a chance to meet him, I must learn from him already*

The balcony................. facing the sea. Romantic?

The most beautiful part.............. the bedroom. Don't you think room is nice? The room is so damn romantic. I almost want to sleep on the bed already.

So, how do you think of this hotel? Nice or not? Any bloggers from other state travelling to Penang and looking for a place to stay? You can consider Paradise Sandy Beach. Not too far from Gurney Drive. It's only about 10mins drive. This is surely a good venue for holidaymaker too. I almost forget to tell you that they have a very nice beach too. The beach just at the back of the hotel. I am not too sure whether they do arrange for wedding cocktail near the beach or not. If yes, it's going to be really really romantic.

I will update you with some of their food promotion later. So, if any of you are planning for your wedding do remember to visit Paradise Sandy Beach on 28 - 29 July 2007.

*this is not an advertisement nor sponsored post. this post is written base on my experience*

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND TO ALL MY READERS AND FANSEE!!!
