Who Is Crazy?

Today I were quite busy in the kitchen and since everyone is out , I got to take care of the shop. There were quite a number of walk-in customer in the afternoon. Hubby will be coming to the shop about 4pm. Since, he is about to reach in 10 minutes I decided to measure my stuff and start baking another batch of cakes. While I were beating the cake mix a lady at her late 40's walk in. So, I stop the mixture and go outside. Immediately she see me, she tell me this - 'wah! your cornflakes very cheap lar'. I did not get her at first coz she don't speak good english. She took a 1kg packet of cornflakes and sit down in front of my cashier table. Talk to me where I don't understand what she is talking about. Later, I ask her whether is she japanese and she said no, she is a koreanese (that is what she say). She told me she is married to a local man for more than 15 years.
After that, she ask if she can sit down for 10 minutes to take a rest coz she walk for Adventist hospital to my shop (that is about 15 minutes walking distant). I told yes and she sat down. Slowly she begin her conversation from english to mandarin. Alamak!!! I lagi cannot understand. I am not very good in mandarin - only so so. She sit down in front of me and talk and talk and talk ............................. until I get so bored coz most of the things she talk about, I don't understand. She sat in front of me and start to talk and talk and talk. I continue to read the blog and more blogs.
Suddenly, she asked me is my husband treating me well and does he nag me alot. I were shock and do not know what to say. After that, I just reply her that my husband don't really talk alot. She smile and say that I am such a lucky lady. Now she continue to talk and talk and tell me that she got a daughter who is about to finish her Form 5. Again she say something that shock me - she said "there was a time when I were having sex with my husband suddenly my daughter run inside the room. I got so scared and hide myself in the cupboard". I look at her and said, "your daughter so big liau wor". Then, I got her wrong. That was many many years ago when her daughter is still very young. She really make me go crazy.
She spend about 20 minutes in my shop talking nonsense. I do not know who is the crazy one. Is she the crazy one who talk nonsense or I am the silly idiot listening to her crazy story.

Recipe : Chicken Feet Rice & Kerabu Pamelo

As I had promise you all earlier, this is the Chicken Feet Rice recipe that I want to share with you. Apart from that, I make Kerabu Pamelo. Horny was mentioning everything are going up and up and up. But the only 1 thing that did not go up is SALARY. So, food are getting expensive. Beelibaala said if we cook at home sometimes can be more costly. However, it depends on what we cook, rite? Learn to do planning and costing before we shop.

Now let me share with you the recipe for Chicken Leg Rice :

10 pcs of Chicken Feet
4 cups of rice
5 1/2 cups of water
Chicken Stock - to your taste
4 tbsp Kicap Manis Cap Udang Kipas

Chicken Feet which I bought from my favourite stall at Perak Road. Remember to get some extra gravy from the stall that you buy from.

Place the chicken feet in the rice pot to cook together. When the rice is cook, add seasoning to your taste.

This is the rice.

Total amount spend :
Chicken Feet RM2.00
Rice RM0.80
Seasoning RM0.80
Electricity RM0.40
Total RM4.00
The above recipe served 4 person. So it's only cost RM1.00/person. If you wish you can fried an egg to put on top. That may come up to a total cost of RM1.50/person. Still cheap rite?
But for me, I made Kerabu Pamelo to go with the rice. Why pamelo? Mooncake festival is just over and I have a pamelo given to me by my aunt. So, don't waste and I decided to use that. This is one of my dish that love by family and friends.

This is the pamelo that my aunt gave me.

Cili padi is a must. The green one is really a good one. The red one is from Indonesia. It don't really have a good smell of chili but it's damn hot. Believe me! It's so spicy until you can jump up and down.

These are the ingredients :
1 no of Pamelo (break the flesh into bite size)
30 nos of onion
300g of dried shrimp
1 cup of lime (about 25 - 30 nos of lime)
20 nos of green chilli padi, slice
15 nos of red Indonesia chilli padi / 5 red chillies, slice
1 small stalk of spring onion , cut small
1 small stalk of parsley, cut small
80g sugar or to your taste
salt to your taste

1. Mixed everything together and it's ready to served. You can also make 1 day ahead. Keep it in the fridge and it can last for about 2 days.

Remark : you can also substitute the pamelo with mango.

This is my ready kerabu pamelo to be served.

I kept a bowl of the kerabu for my family (enough for 5 person). The rest my hubby wanted to give away to his friends. He told his friends about it and they wanted to have some too. So, I have about 15 small round container to give away.

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!!!

PRICES KEEP GOING UP AND UP

As usual, I will go thru some other blogs and read. Horny wrote about prices for everything are going up. I fully agree with him. Things are getting more and more expensive and our salary still remain the same. We have been working so hard like a cow and sometimes we want to pamper ourselves too - have some good food, buy some nice clothes and bla bla bla. Because of Horny blog, I plan to create a food costing to share with you all readers. Not too expensive, healthy and easy to deal with. So, do look up for my post.

Simple Snack

Things had been keeping me so busy. I MISS BLOGGING!!! I miss blogging so so much. In fact, my schedule for this week is still very tight. Don't care, I still want to take some time to blog. Work like a cow for so many days already. This time, I wanna share with you a simple snack - Guava with Mandarin Orange Peel.

4 nos of guava - cut wedges

Some dried Mandarin Orange Peel

Mixed it well and leave it aside for about and hour.

You can also add some some salt and brown sugar to make it tastier.

It's so easy to do and yummy to eat too. Never leave it too long or else the guava will become soft.
